Beeronomics:
You know that beeronomics or beeronomix is a very interesting phenomena, if you know the cost of a beer you can pretty much relate that to the general cost of other things in a country. You can use this method to understand the prices and rates when you travel, here is an example:
If a beer cost fifty pesos or one dollar (unit or euro) in a working man's colmado, bar or bodega, and if a breakfast costs 150 pesos or 3 dollars or 3 units, a newspaper should be around 25 pesos. You can apply that and understand how things are priced in that country. You can actually use beer as a comparative tool as if it was hard currency.
The most popular beer in the Dominican Republic is Presidente. Bohemia beer, from the same brewery, is gaining a lot of popularity.
